To mark the duo Elmgreen & Dragset’s first major exhibition with Pace in New York, The Nervous System, Pace Publishing produced a catalogue featuring an essay by writer Martin Herbert and an interview with the artists conducted by art historian Richard Shiff.

Printed on matte paper, the book includes full-bleed installation views and details of Elmgreen & Dragset’s highly narrative exhibition focused on domestic dysfunction. These images of the artists’ figurative and abstract sculptures bring their immersive presentation—comprising emotionally, psychologically, and politically resonant scenes—to life once again.

The book also assembles archival photographs of Elmgreen & Dragset’s past exhibitions at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the 53rd Venice Biennale in 2009, and other venues, as well as images of their iconic public works around the world, including Prada Marfa (2005) and Bent Pool (2019).
