Published on the occasion of the exhibition held in 2018 in New York, David Hockney: Something New in Painting (and Photography) [and even Printing] presents new paintings—the majority of which were made on hexagonal canvases—along with photographic drawings depicting varying subject matter and challenging the limitations of conventional perspective. This publication includes a text by Lawrence Weschler illuminating the Hockney’s various reference points, from works by Fra Angelico to a 1920 essay by Father Pavel Florensky of Moscow.
