Lawrence Weiner "IN THE STREAM OF LIFE"

This special collaboration between Lawrence Weiner’s estate and contemporary ceramicist Heami Lee is available through Pace Gallery and Seoul-based craft gallery Sikijang. For this project—which extends from Pace’s exhibition of Weiner’s work at its Seoul gallery in 2024—Lee has created moon jars inscribed with the words IN THE STREAM OF LIFE, a phrase Weiner drew from philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein’s notion that “words have meaning only in the stream of life.” Handmade by Lee over the course of repeated firings, these new moon jars are finished in a silver glaze that oxidizes over time, rendering the words on their surfaces gradually more pronounced. In this way, the vessels give physical form to the transformative power of language.  

IN THE STREAM OF LIFE is only available for local pickup from our New York gallery at 540 W 25th St. Once purchased, a member of our team will reach out to you to arrange pickup. White glove shipping service is available for an additional fee which will be determined based on the dimensions of the package and the final destination.
